The Soul of Rancho Altos

As we bring together a roving community of leaders, visioners, and participants, the intentional community of Rancho Altos is about to reveal its most valuable crop: a regenerative future.

The wheel of time in the Altos turns around slowly. The delicate cove of the surrounding mountains seems hand painted, a serene curve with a lot of meaning. The tapping sound of horses dancing along their jinete, the smell of wood fire burning, cows mooing, farmers tilling the land, and that mesmerizing raw view of agave fields. It feels like home.

Located at the height of the Cerro del Maguey, Rancho Altos aims to build a conscious, communal life. Where soil, water, fire, agave, and nature are prime elements to honor, regenerate and protect.

On the land, the concept of well-being is seen from a different angle. Echoing Rudolf Steiner’s principles, among others, has led Rancho Altos to a path where regenerative agriculture and biodynamics are the essences of the project.

Hence, Rancho Altos wants to share this belief with like-minded people, becoming a unique destination for guests and homeowners to unwind and experience. Finding wisdom, happiness, and purpose amid nature.

For centuries, we humans have ignored the real significance behind our relationship with nature. Fracturing the bond between humans and Mother Nature, harming it, profiting from it, and endlessly ignoring the possibility of repair. Rancho Altos is born from the urge of regaining a sensitive perspective, introducing a state of connectedness as part of the project’s philosophy.

“ The dynamics within the community are about cooperation and sharing.” Diego Campos co-founder

The core of these woodlands is based on human consciousness, and Rancho Altos is bounded by bucolic scenes and adventurous feelings. 25 hectares of land are destined for farming purposes. On the ranch, education will only continue to grow. Through community projects, a school, and carefully designed spaces meant to become educational outlets for current and future generations, Rancho Altos reframes the feeling of growing up in nature.

“This project integrates knowledge and a desire to act and a will that makes it well rounded and solid.” – Héctor Esrawe, Architecture, and Design.

Embracing simplicity and tradition, burned wood, stone, natural greenery, and sustainable local materials are Mother Nature’s primary colors; earthy tones that seamlessly enhance Rancho Altos. Under the creative vision of renowned architects and designers, every building and communal space at Rancho Altos uses a non-invasive design, showcasing the community’s pride and connection with the environment.

When the time comes, we’ll be eager to jump on any vehicle that will take us to a new, sustainable era. To a region amid the city and the highlands. To the soul of Rancho Altos.

“A new way of looking at agriculture, economy, community, the future of our children, ourselves and our interaction with the environment.” – Marcos Galindo, founder.
